NIKOLA READY TO MAKE HIS FIRST APPEARANCE
21-23 May 2010 in Oppenrod will be Nikola’s first opportunity
Talking to Nikola, he has no concerns about the fact that he never drove, or even been to Oppenrod. As far as he is concerned, every track is “curbs and straights” and “...it is very important to study the track by walking it before the event and then get the best feel of it during the practice sessions. Everyone had to drive the track the first time, so will I. I have enough miles in my wheels racing the clock. It’s about the time I race other drivers.”
Asked about his expectations, he makes rather bold statement: “I will always race to win; starting with my first race. I am not racing to lose. I am facing lot of other drivers with 2-3 years of racing experience and much more practice then me. However, that should not discourage me in doing what I want to do – racing. I might be somewhere midfield, which would be considered a success, but I will step on that podium sooner or later.”
About his team, TR-Racing and the team boss Rade Trnavac who was working with Nikola on few occasions, Nikola says: “I feel great with the team. It all looks more like a big happy family and I am happy they accepted me the way they did. Rade is very nice man and I learned from him more in one weekend than from some, so called coaches, in months. He helped me master the wet tracks and extreme conditions as our practice sessions were in November and December last year. My kart was always prepared to perfection which gives me confidence I need for the race.” I can’t wait to start.
